FAQ

  • How to use the kit?
Dishes: Add a few drops of Dr. Bronner's soap concentrate for washing dishes, cleaning spills, etc. Dip the sponge in water to expand and use for scrubbing. Bathing: The rinse-free shower wipes are single-use clothes to substitute a "deep clean" between showers. Simply add a little water and lather the cloth. Wipe over body and towel dry (no need to rinse!). The body powder (talc-free) is useful to manage moisture and odor between washes. Hand washing: Hand sanitizer is useful to disinfect hands- especially after you go to the bathroom. Laundry: The detergent sheets are concentrated detergent soap (no scent) and can be cut to size for smaller loads (i.e., hand washing in a bucket). Oral: Pop a toothpaste tab in your mouth and bite down and use a toothbrush.
  • Why are kits being donated to Asheville?
After Helene caused severe flooding damaging the city's water infrastructure, many people found ourselves unprepared for a new lifestyle without the luxury of running water. The timeline for clean, potable water to be restored to residents is on the magnitude of several weeks to several months. These products are designed to deliver clean benefits with minimal water use. With so much disruption in Western Carolina between clean up efforts and daily survival, save water resources and take care of yourselves. We're all doing the best we can.
